The IGSB Evidence Route is a controlled written process for examining whether AI governance arrangements can be evidenced within a defined system, workflow or bounded deployment context, on the basis of the documentary records submitted. The route is conducted entirely through written correspondence.
The route has three stages and ends with the issue of a Defined-System AI Governance Evidence Gap Map.
Not every enquiry is accepted.
Governance evidence may be incomplete, distributed across multiple functions, inconsistently attributed or difficult to trace to defined decisions and controls. The Evidence Route provides a structured process for identifying the relevant evidence question, defining the scope boundary, requesting the core records and recording the evidence position within that scope. Progression is not automatic. IGSB considers the enquiry, the defined system or bounded deployment context, the available documentary records, institutional capacity and applicable boundaries.
Three written stages, structured to support consistent, evidence-led review.
IGSB reviews the written enquiry to determine whether the matter falls within the G-Series Governance Framework and whether a single defined system, workflow or bounded deployment context can be identified. An enquiry does not create an engagement, a duty of care or a commitment to accept work. Do not submit confidential, privileged, personal or operationally sensitive evidence at initial contact.
Where the matter is accepted, IGSB confirms in writing the defined system, the scope boundary, the governance questions in scope and the core records required. Scope is fixed at one system, workflow or bounded deployment context and up to 20 core records. An evidence request does not constitute acceptance into any later activity.
IGSB reviews the submitted records and issues a written Gap Map recording, for each governance question in scope, the evidence status supported by the documents provided. One consolidated written clarification round is included. Target delivery is ten working days after complete evidence receipt. Standard fee £6,500. The Gap Map does not provide certification, assurance, legal advice, regulatory approval or confirmation of compliance.
The route ends at the Gap Map. There is no further stage, and no progression beyond it is offered or implied.

IGSB operates through written correspondence, documentary evidence review and defined scope. IGSB does not provide certification, audit assurance, legal advice, regulatory approval, confirmation of compliance with any legal, regulatory, contractual or statutory requirement, technical model validation, cyber-security testing, deployment approval or implementation consultancy.
No IGSB output guarantees procurement, approval or progression of any kind.

IGSB does not presently issue certification or accreditation, and nothing in this material should be read as indicating that a certification, accreditation or assurance service exists or is planned.
Each governance question within the defined scope is recorded against one controlled status.
Supported
— the submitted records evidence the governance arrangement within the defined scope.
Partially Supported
— the submitted records evidence part of the arrangement; material elements remain incomplete, unclear or insufficiently traceable.
Not Evidenced
— the submitted records do not evidence the arrangement.
Not Submitted
— no record addressing the arrangement was submitted within the defined scope.
Not Applicable
— the arrangement does not apply to the defined system, workflow or deployment context.
Outside Scope
— the arrangement falls outside the agreed scope boundary and was not reviewed.
A status describes the documentary evidence position within the defined scope at a point in time. It does not confirm legal compliance, technical performance, operational effectiveness, regulatory approval or audit assurance. The absence of evidence within submitted records does not establish that an activity has never occurred; it means the activity was not evidenced within the material reviewed.
Organisations considering the Evidence Route should begin by identifying the single AI-enabled system, workflow or bounded deployment context under consideration and the documentary evidence question they wish to have examined. Do not send confidential, privileged, personal or operationally sensitive evidence at initial contact. IGSB will confirm any controlled submission route in writing.
