This disclaimer explains the scope and limitations of information, standards, evidence methodologies, classifications and written outputs published or issued by the International Governance Standards Board.

IGSB materials are intended to support structured consideration of documentary governance evidence. They do not replace applicable law, regulation, internal accountability, technical review, professional assurance or specialist advice.

Current Institutional Position

IGSB is an independent, founder-led governance standards initiative in a controlled development and market-validation stage. IGSB develops the G-Series Governance Framework, evidence methodologies, research and controlled written routes for examining whether governance arrangements can be evidenced within submitted information. IGSB does not act as a regulator, accreditation body, audit firm, law firm or officially recognised standards authority. IGSB does not presently issue certification.

Status of the G-Series Governance Framework

The G-Series provides an independent framework for structuring and examining documentary governance evidence across board, institutional, technology and AI-enabled environments.

Use of the G-Series does not establish compliance with any external requirement.

Meaning of Evidence Classifications

IGSB records documentary evidence positions using four controlled classifications:

These classifications describe the submitted evidence position only. They do not establish that a governance control is legally sufficient, effectively designed, consistently operated or capable of producing a particular outcome.

Evidence Is Not the Same as Operating Effectiveness

Documentary evidence may indicate that a policy, responsibility, decision, review, control or oversight activity has been recorded.

The presence of documentary evidence does not, by itself, establish that the relevant arrangement is consistently followed, technically effective or sufficient in every operational context.

The absence of evidence within submitted information does not necessarily establish that an activity has never occurred. It means that the activity was not evidenced within the material reviewed for the defined scope.

Responsibility Remains with the Organisation

Responsibility for governance, legal compliance, regulatory obligations, system operation, risk acceptance, deployment decisions and ongoing oversight remains with the relevant organisation, board, management team, system owner and accountable decision-makers.

IGSB does not assume management responsibility and does not make deployment, procurement, operational or risk-acceptance decisions on behalf of an organisation.

Organisations should obtain appropriate legal, regulatory, technical, cybersecurity, audit, assurance or other specialist advice where required.

References to External Requirements

IGSB publications may refer to legislation, regulation, regulatory guidance, recognised standards, public frameworks or other third-party materials for context.

Such references do not mean that IGSB:

Separate Written Engagements

A formal IGSB evidence review, readiness activity or controlled pre-assessment begins only after the relevant scope, evidence requirements, boundaries, outputs, fees and engagement terms have been confirmed and accepted in writing.

Website content, an initial enquiry, an evidence request or informal correspondence does not itself create an assessment engagement, duty of care, certification relationship or commitment to accept work.

Any issued output should be read together with its stated scope, assumptions, evidence limitations and engagement terms.

Certification Position

IGSB does not presently issue certification.

Any future certification activity would require separately established governance, independence, competence, decision-control, appeals, quality-assurance and oversight arrangements.

References to possible future certification development must not be interpreted as the existence of a current certification service, certification decision process or certification status.

Updates to Materials

IGSB may revise its standards, evidence methodologies, classifications, research, website content and institutional materials as its work develops.

Readers should use the current published version of any IGSB document and should not assume that archived, downloaded or third-party copies remain current.

Material changes to an accepted written engagement or issued output would be addressed through the applicable written controls rather than through a general website update alone.
